Is the sharing economy doomed to betray its utopian roots?

There’s good money in ‘sharing’, if the £58m in new backing for French car-sharing BlaBlaCar website is any guide. With more than 8 million members in 12 countries, including more than 100,000 new ones a month in Russia, the company is fast becoming a significant global transport network, and one that joins Airbnb and new-style taxi app Uber as an endorsement of the much-heralded sharing economy.
